QA probably is an easy industry to get in, if you consider the industry. It’s an easy task for game HR to find testers. It’s maybe not as true now, it’s still relatively easy.
It’s not entirely a joke, barriers are low for most people at least. People to apply are legion though. Postings get attention for obvious reasons, so you should show special qualities.
Of course, every job offer is unique. In the most common case, it will be fine if you’re smart.
It’s just something you can do or not, and it shows in the quality of game testing. Depending on your location , you can be optimistic.
Lots of people are ready to get your CV and cover letter.

Do your QA job seriously since there is no place for lazy people. Show you take it seriously, you are demanding to yourself and remember this is a serious job rather than just playing.
Don’t expect wonders by any mean, be a master of the topic to make your life easier. Show how this knowledge applies to your qualities.
